Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has criticized SEC Chair Gary Gensler, claiming he will cause Joe Biden to lose the U.S. presidential election in November. Speaking at a Bloomberg Invest Summit in New York, Gensler commented on the crypto industry, stating, "This is a field where the leading lights from a couple of years ago are either in jail, about to go to jail, or awaiting extradition. That’s the field right now where the public has really been harmed. And there’s significant non-compliance in the field.”
Garlinghouse responded on 𝕏, calling Gensler’s remarks "absolute nonsense" and accusing him of missing major frauds like FTX while criticizing the entire crypto industry. He added, "If he was really ‘working for the American people’ as he says, he would have been fired a long time ago. Gensler will cause Biden to lose the election."

Billionaire Mark Cuban also criticized Gensler, suggesting that the SEC’s handling of cryptocurrency regulation could influence the 2024 election. Cuban argued that the SEC’s actions have hindered legitimate crypto businesses and hurt entrepreneurs, potentially impacting younger and independent voters.
