Grayscale, the world's biggest manager of crypto investments, announced today that Peter Mintzberg will be their new CEO starting this August, as per a recent press release. Mintzberg is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience at top asset management firms. He takes over from Michael Sonnenshein, who is stepping down to focus on other things. In the meantime, Grayscale's CFO, Edward McGee, will be the principal executive officer.
Mintzberg has a history of leading successful growth strategies, and Grayscale's founder, Barry Silbert, is excited about what he can bring to the company. Mintzberg himself is impressed by Grayscale's achievements and looks forward to working with their team. Before joining Grayscale, Mintzberg worked at Goldman Sachs and other major financial institutions. He has a background in engineering and business administration.
Silbert also thanked Sonnenshein for his service, highlighting his role in growing Grayscale's assets under management and their legal win related to a Bitcoin ETF. Sonnenshein is proud of what they've accomplished and believes this is a good time to hand things over.
