Cointelegraph reported that the Ministry of Education of El Salvador, in collaboration with the non-governmental organization known as Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB), which translates to "My First Bitcoin," have joined forces with the aim of integrating Bitcoin education into the public school curriculum by the year 2024.

John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, has confirmed to Cointelegraph that this initiative is a project initiated by the Ministry of Education, and MPB is lending its support, along with the involvement of Bitcoin Beach.

According to Dennehy, the primary educational material for the Bitcoin component will be derived from the Mi Primer Bitcoin program, where students receive a completion diploma. He stated that the training for the pilot program is set to commence on September 7, with support from Bitcoin Beach. This Bitcoin diploma program will be imparted to 150 public school teachers from 75 schools, equipping them with fundamental knowledge about Bitcoin.

Dennehy expressed, "As the first nation to embrace Bitcoin, El Salvador is poised to become a global example. High-quality education is our most potent tool to ensure that this example sets a positive precedent."

He further elaborated that following the initial training, these teachers will return to their respective schools to teach the curriculum devised by the Ministry of Education. He remarked that if the program proves successful, it will be extended to every school across the country next year.

"When My First Bitcoin began two years ago, one of our aspirations was to educate an entire nation. This represents a significant stride toward realizing that vision," Dennehy noted. Roman Martínez, the community leader, also informed Cointelegraph that over 25,000 students in El Salvador have already received Bitcoin education in their classrooms.
