FOX Business reports that "Crypto for Harris," a pro-Kamala Harris advocacy group, is hosting a virtual town hall next week. The event will feature speakers like Mark Cuban, Anthony Scaramucci, and several Democratic House members. Top Senate Democrats have also been invited to discuss campaign support and fundraising efforts for Harris.
"Crypto for Harris" has around 50 members, including industry experts and policy specialists. Jonathan Padilla, CEO of Web3 Marketing firm Snickerdoodle, emphasized the need for the U.S. to lead in blockchain and crypto, highlighting the group's efforts to shape the right policies.
The Democratic crypto community is working to prevent Trump from monopolizing the crypto vote. Trump has garnered substantial support in the crypto sector, raising over $20 million at the recent Bitcoin Conference in Nashville and pledging to ease regulations if elected.
Democratic lawmakers and industry advocates are not backing down. Rep. Wiley Nickel, D-N.C., stressed the importance of encouraging innovation and protecting consumers, without letting crypto become a political tool.
Separately, Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., will convene a private meeting with industry leaders and Democratic strategists, including Harris campaign adviser Anita Dunn and senior Biden economic adviser Lael Brainard, to discuss further strategies.
Harris has recently added former crypto advisers David Plouffe and Gene Sperling to her campaign, signaling strong support for the crypto industry. Despite some criticism of the Biden administration's regulatory approach, Padilla noted the importance of nurturing the transformative potential of Web 3 within the Democratic Party.
